⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ReviewI have read The Wedding Debt and The Marriage Debt and knew I would really enjoy Clarissa’s books。 But reading Beasts story OMG she has got a serious fan for life。 The way she created these characters in these pages just absolutely wowed me。 She created the most perfect couple I have read of hers and yes I have a lot of previous books to read and compare but I don’t think any will compare to these two。 This is Beast and Aurora’s story and it is heart wrenchingly dark， emotional， ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ReviewI have read The Wedding Debt and The Marriage Debt and knew I would really enjoy Clarissa’s books。 But reading Beasts story OMG she has got a serious fan for life。 The way she created these characters in these pages just absolutely wowed me。 She created the most perfect couple I have read of hers and yes I have a lot of previous books to read and compare but I don’t think any will compare to these two。 This is Beast and Aurora’s story and it is heart wrenchingly dark， emotional， loving， dangerous， cold and abusive。 He’s supposed to unalive anyone that gets in his way of getting his target but when he looks into her eyes he allows his target to get away and takes her instead because she’s his。 Locked away in a cage these two find what it means to truly love and be loved regardless of their scars and their deformities。 Two people couldn’t be more perfect for each other。 But it’s not as simple as I’m making it sound， these two literally go thru so much and are faced with so many hard dark decisions and are constantly pitted against those they care about and each other。 But what they are building together is so much stronger than any ownership or any family tie and it just really pulls at your heart。 This book definitely has all the feels， all the darkness and depravity and so so much more。 But definitely be aware of TW and the fact it does end on a major heartbreaking intense cliffy。 But Beauty is already out so you don’t have to wait to find out what happens to these two。 Ughhhh I just love these two characters！！ Highly recommend this book。 。。。more

A dark and riveting read that hooked me from the start！ Beast is a brutal and dark character and i admit i struggled with him to begin with， however this changed as we got to know more of his back story。 Aurora is not my usual type of heroine， however she balanced Beast out and i found i really started to enjoy their story。。。plenty of darkness， a hint of mafia and loads of steam！。I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review。

A Beauty and the Beast inspired story， dark romance， AND a mafia infusion？ Well， that sounds delicious。 And Beast was certainly an intriguing and fast-paced page turner。 Dark captivity， a primal hero and innocent heroine with a secret， forced proximity， and so much danger- it’s quite an experience！If you are looking for something that is more closely inspired by Beauty the Beast this isn’t it- we have a hero named Beast who kidnaps our heroine， but we soon learn they are both captives of a more A Beauty and the Beast inspired story， dark romance， AND a mafia infusion？ Well， that sounds delicious。 And Beast was certainly an intriguing and fast-paced page turner。 Dark captivity， a primal hero and innocent heroine with a secret， forced proximity， and so much danger- it’s quite an experience！If you are looking for something that is more closely inspired by Beauty the Beast this isn’t it- we have a hero named Beast who kidnaps our heroine， but we soon learn they are both captives of a more powerful man。 And we have a seemingly innocent heroine but she’s far less optimistic and sunshiney than the original Belle…and her name is Aurora。 Hm。 Anywho- this becomes a dual captivity story， with a splash of mafia。From what I understand， we meet Beast， the “monster，” in other books by this author as well as his handler/owner， a mafia boss。 Here we jump RIGHT into the action with Beast on a mission that puts him in the path of his beauty- and he decides to keep her。 From there a lot of the story takes place in captivity， with both of them being drawn to each other as things hit up in their cell。 I wish I’d read the other stories just so I had a little bit of the back context， but it was easy to dive right in。 Beast isn’t just a monstrous man， he’s a man who has been deprived of social interaction， normal human living conditions， basic human knowledge。 So， needless to say， he’s not just dark， he’s rough around the edges- but he catches on to things quickly。 He’s been content in his captivity for a lot of reasons （most complacency and trauma）， until his beauty comes along and suddenly he wants liberation and more freedom- to protect her while he also wants to keep her as his toy， a gift from his master。The chemistry here is very much physical- a lot of instalust， and from Beauty’s unexpected kindness to him。 We get a little bit of emotional bonding， but much of the story is them figuring out their situation- and it leads up to quite a big cliffhanger。 There is a particularly salacious scene （following when we find out one of Aurora’s secrets） that was extra delicious。If you’re looking for something darkly erotic and lusty， this is it。 It’s fast and dirty， and an entertaining read。 Towards the end， we have quite a few important character revelations that I’m hoping yield some more vulnerable and emotional moments between these two- and I’m excited to see just how they find their way out of the VERY imminent， perhaps fatal， dangers looming。 。。。more

man up for losing a shipment that her father was counting on。 Apparently there was an ambush at the location and the shipment was taken but Aurora's father doesn't believe him and is exacting his punishment for it on the guy。 He tells the guy to get out of his sight and he leaves bloody and broken but not before her father spies Aurora eavesdropping on his business。 He calls her to him and fusses at her and she explains that she's doing it to learn his business to eventually take it over。 He scoffs at that bringing up the mistake that she did last time that he involved her in his business， something that happened when she was seven years old。 They are at an associate of her father's apartment and as soon as he opens the door， her father shoots him。 As he's crawling away her father's men shoot him again while her father screams at him about crossing him。 Aurora watches all of this silently because her father's instructions were to watch and learn。 Everyone quiets when they hear some whimpering from across the room。 Suddenly a bedroom door opens and a woman comes out pointing a gun， but she's shot before she can even shoot her gun。 She realizes that in her father's line of business， a single mistake by one family member means the entire family pays。 Blood for blood。 After witnessing all the carnage she gets sick to her stomach and runs into the bathroom to throw up in the toilet。 She finishes throwing up and splashes her face with water at the sink。 While looking at herself in the mirror she notices a pair of eyes staring at her from behind the shower curtain。 She looks to the door to make sure no one is watching， then she pulls back the curtain and sees a boy about her age crouched down and cowering in the corner。 She knows he heard the violent ends to his parents and she wants to give him some sort of peace offering so she pulls the flower from her hair and presses it into his trembling hand。 Her father comes to the door and wants to know what's going on in there。 She tells him that it's just her in there and she's just finishing up from being sick。 He later learns of her deceit and returns to tie up loose ends， but the kid has disappeared。 In the present day， her father has never taken it kindly that she tried to save that kid。 She has just been sent upstairs to get ready because they are having visitors。 As she comes downstairs he father sends her back upstairs to put on her gloves。 She must always wear her gloves， no matter what。 She only removes them to wash her hands， otherwise， they are always on。 She goes downstairs and meets the visitors， Walter Jenson and his wife， Dana。 They proceed to the coffee room to discuss a new venture and where the adults will have coffee。 The couple say that they've heard that Aurora is an excellent pianist and that they'd like to hear her play。 She plays a beautiful melody and after she's through Dana tells her that she played beautifully even with the gloves， but why not remove them to make it easier。 Aurora is stuttering to figure out how to answer when before she can， there are gun shots。 Everyone freezes and wonders what's happening。 Two guards run into the room with guns drawn。 More gun shots ensue as more guards pour into the room only these are riddled with wounds and collapse， dead。 Aurora's father's favorite guard brings him his guns。 They begin shooting down the hallway and as the smoke clears in steps a very large man decked out in cargo pants and protective gear， it's Beast on his assignment。 Her father shoots at him and the bullet just bounces off his chest。 Beast then swipes at her father and he falls down screaming in pain from a knife slash to his arm。 Her father begs the gunman not to kill him。 Aurora decides to help， reaches into the jacket of one of dead guards and finds his gun。 She aims it at her father's assailant and fires。 The gun's recoil throws her off balance and knocks the gun from her grip。The giant she was aiming at stomps his way to her and grips her around her throat， slowly squeezing。 He let's her go， looks back over his shoulder and discovers her father has disappeared。 Then he picks her up， throwing her over his shoulder and exits the house， stepping over all the dead bodies。 They get outside and he straps her hands behind her back， shoves a gag in her mouth， covers her head with a bag， tossing her into the back of a white van before sitting in the driver's seat and driving away。 She tries to remember all of the turns to have some semblance of a way back home， but to no avail as she can't keep track of the direction they're going in。 The van ends up coming to a stop and she's yanked out， carried over his shoulder into a place where they get a room for the night。 Beast gets her to the room and removes the bag from her head。 They're left staring into each other's eyes。 He's totally mesmerized by her caramel eyes and beauty。 Aurora asks him what he wants from her and that her father can pay him anything he wants as long as he let's them live， both her and her father。 He grabs her face and asks where her father is。 She tells him that she doesn't know。 He sees her as a porcelain doll and he's confused at what he's supposed to do now that he's failed his mission。 He failed to kill Aurora's father and everyone that gets in his way， including Aurora。 He abruptly throws onto her stomach on the bed and crawls on top of her body。。 She hears the flick of his knife opening and she starts begging for him not to kill her。 He slices through the strap that was securing her hands。He climbs off of her。 She begins to asks why did he free her and she can't finish the sentence with the way he's looking at her。 She again offers to get him money。 He abruptly tells her that he doesn't need her money。 She tries to figure out what else he could want from her。 She has nothing else to offer him but then she remembers that she has herself， her body。 She approaches him silently and kneels in front of him， reaches for his belt。She unloops his belt， pulls down his pants zipper and reaches for the band of his underwear。 This entire time Beast is glaring at her through squinted eyes。 He reaches down， grips the hem of her gloves and just as he's about to pull them off she pulls out of his grip and says she'd like to keep them on。 She reaches for his underwear again and this time he shoves her hand away。 She keeps attempting the same thing with the same result。 She can't figure out what his deal is， after all， he's taken her to a hotel room。 She starts to ask him and he doesn't have an answer。 Instead he pushes her hand away， zips up and goes stand by the window。 He tells her that they're staying there， proceeds to turn the lights out， plunging the room in darkness。 She lays on the bed and before long feels the bed dip with his weight as he lays beside her。 She vows not to go to sleep because she's not sure what he's going to do to her。 She has all these thoughts bombarding her in the darkness。 Where is her father， is he at a hideout？ He told her， he'd always protect her but he isn't there now。 Is he on his way to save her？ Can he even win against this formidable giant？ She decides to keep her thoughts positive and before long a buzzer goes off and she meets his eyes in the darkness。 He turns off his phone， gets up and opens the curtains letting the bright light in。 Aurora scrambles for the bathroom but when she goes to close the door he tells her no。 So， leaving it open she uses the bathroom with him watching her every movement。 When she goes to leave the bathroom he refuses to let her pass， telling her that they're leaving。 He straps her hands again and places the hood over her head again。 He slings her over his shoulder and deposits her back in the back of the van。 He has decided to take her back to his owner's house and try to explain to him how and why he failed on his mission。 He know that his owner isn't going to be happy in the least。 He arrives at his owner's house。 His owner wants to see him immediately once he learns that Beast is back。 He carries a screaming Aurora in on his shoulder and sets her down in front of his owner。 His owner asks what is this and he tells him that it's a prisoner to which his owner replies I told you to kill everyone。 Beast tells him that his target escaped。 His owner's voice changes and he calls some guards to come take her to the next room will he deals with the Beast first。 The guards take Aurora to the next room where she hears the wack of a whip smacking something and the roar of someone in extreme pain。 After a while she is escorted back to the room。 There's a guy behind a desk and he asks her if she's Blom's daughter and she nods her head。 He then asks what her name is and she answers Aurora。 He says that's a beautiful name and he wonders why her father didn't offer to trade her。 She asks who he is and he responds that he is Lex De Vos。 She thinks she's heard his name mentioned by her father about a shipment and a large sum of money。 Then in a stern voice he asks her where is her father。 She tells him that she doesn't know。 He tells her to stop lying and tell him mind and tell him where her father is。 She's brought downstairs and thrown into Beast's cage。 She's left in the darkness and shadows that he's lived his whole life in。 This is where I'll leave you and you'll have to get the book to find out what happens next。 Does she and Beast forge an alliance and work together to free themselves。 Do feelings develop between the two cell mates because of the close proximity of the two of them。 Do they discover that each has a broken soul that they each can heal the other？ You'll have to get the book to discover the answers。 I can definitely recommend this book for all lovers of dark romances。 It has a fantastic gripping storyline with strong characters。 You're just enveloped in this storyline and lose all sense of everything around you as you're immersed in the dark basement with Beast and Aurora; hoping， against all odds， for a happily ever after。 Five stars all around for this one！。I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am I'm all about the dark & twisty， but there's just something about Clarissa Wild's dark romance that even can make me pause to catch my breath。 Let me tell you， there are a lot of triggers in this story so please be aware before going in。 I felt so much pain for Beast， who was contained in a cell until he was let out to kill for his owner （it's disgusting that humans are willing to sell & cage other humans）， as no one should ever be caged like that。 I also felt as much pain for Aurora， whose fath I'm all about the dark & twisty， but there's just something about Clarissa Wild's dark romance that even can make me pause to catch my breath。 Let me tell you， there are a lot of triggers in this story so please be aware before going in。 I felt so much pain for Beast， who was contained in a cell until he was let out to kill for his owner （it's disgusting that humans are willing to sell & cage other humans）， as no one should ever be caged like that。 I also felt as much pain for Aurora， whose father is loathsome， and when he's hunted down， she ends up being taken as that vile creature leaves her behind。 She ends up in the same place as Beast， and their journey begins。 This story was definitely one that kept me on the edge of my seat saying all kinds of colorful metaphors out loud while reading， but I also wanted to cry the whole way as well。 I don't want to say anything more since this is a duet， and it does end on a cliffhanger so now the impatient wait begins！ HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND！ 。。。more
